About the role

Risk Management unit Brazil is seeking a talented Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Consultant with a proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges, to join a fast-paced technical safety consultancy at the cutting edge of risk analysis techniques. This a great opportunity to be part of a motivated team that is a trusted voice to tackle global transformations and challenges, helping our customers in achieving the safety of their assets and operations.

The Risk Management South America team provide a wide range of advisory safety engineering and risk management services to the energy industry, for CAPEX and OPEX projects, in Brazil and worldwide. The CFD Consultant is expected to liaise with and support several customers and stakeholders including regulatory agencies mainly in the upstream segments, but also in midstream and downstream segments, and tackle energy transition topics, such as CCS and Hydrogen.

The CFD Consultant reports to a Team Leader and has responsibility for technical delivery of projects with collaboration of other team members and have technical leadership of more junior consultants besides project management. The role includes customer interaction to find solutions to their challenges and discuss project schedule/ delivery, technical issues and solutions. The CFD consultant will have opportunity to interact to customers and other offices globally.

About you

Graduated in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical desirable),

M.Sc., Safety Eng. Post-Graduation or related (desirable)

Experience in CFD Advanced Modeling for Quantitative risk analysis such as Fire and Explosion analysis, Gas Detectors allocation, Flame Detection Allocation, Exhaust and Vent dispersion, Smoke and Gas Dispersion, Flare Radiation Analysis and Helideck Turbulence Analysis.

Experience in CFD tools such as FLACS and KFX. (very desirable)

Experience in CFD tools such as Ansys Fluent or CFX

Familiar about Process Safety (PSM) and Qualitative Risk Analysis: (such as HAZOP, HAZID, etc). Experience in Vulnerability Analysis (PHAST), QRA (SAFETI) will be considered a differential.

Familiar with related to Brazilian regulations (onshore and offshore) - Petrobras Safety Guidelines, ANP and NRs

Experience in upstream, downstream and midstream

Knowledge in programming language: VBA, Python and Digitalization mindset, will be considered a differential.

Besides Portuguese, fluent in English (mandatory)

Spanish will be considered a plus.
