About Energy Systems

We do this by assuring that energy systems work safely and effectively, using solutions that are increasingly digital. We also help industries and governments to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place globally and regionally, in the energy industry.

About the role

DNV's Energy Markets and Strategy (EMS) team provides economic, strategic, regulatory, and policy advisory services related to energy markets, energy infrastructures, energy technologies, and business models.

You will become an expert on the economic regulation of electricity and gas networks and the economic assessment of energy policies, investments and business models. You will develop your skills and support us in enhancing our reputation for quality, innovation, and integrity. You will perform with a high degree of individual responsibility in a role you can actively shape.

Your tasks in this role will include the following:

  • Becoming an expert point of contact for our customers on economic regulation of electricity and gas networks, tariff design, energy policy, sector restructuring, investment appraisal, economic and financial valuation, strategy and transactional advice (regulatory/commercial due diligence).
  • Contributing to the continuous development and expansion of our services, including acquiring new projects and writing winning proposals.

The EMS team

The team located in Bonn (Germany) is providing economic and commercial advice on the energy sector to clients in the DACH countries and internationally. We focus on the energy transition and the impact of the switch to renewable energy resources. Our portfolio of services includes policy and market analysis, economic regulation and energy market design, market and system integration of renewable energies, economic and financial assessment of investments, assets and business models, commercial and regulatory due diligence, market modelling and power price forecasting. Our clients are leading utilities, network operators, project developers, industrials, financial institutions, and various energy and climate focused government entities.

Our diverse team includes experienced senior experts and young enthusiastic talents. We value teamwork and an open, respectful, and cooperative way of working. By joining us, you will form part of a local team in a global company of more than 5,000 employees working in the area of energy. International collaboration is fundamental to how we operate. The German EMS team is part of the EMS department in the region Northern Europe, which consists of 90 consultants.
