We do this by assuring that energy systems work safely and effectively, using solutions that are increasingly digital. We also help industries and governments to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place globally and regionally, in the energy industry.

About the role

As a Senior Technical Safety Consultant, you’ll be part of our overall Risk Advisory department, a growing team of approximately 150 specialists, located across Aberdeen, Loughborough, Stockport and London, providing a wide range of safety and integrity engineering and risk management services to the onshore and offshore energy industry.

Within this, our dedicated Aberdeen Upstream Technical Safety team is a long-standing trusted advisor to the offshore and wider energy industry, delivering consequence and risk assessments, reliability, RBI, ALARP justification, regulatory and risk-based decision support on behalf of operators and their contractors. We utilise a comprehensive range of tools for consequence modelling and risk analysis, typically developed and validated through large/full scale experiments performed at our major hazards testing and research facility in Spadeadam.

Our Opportunity:

As a Senior Consultant reporting to a Team Lead in Aberdeen, you’ll be responsible for helping balance the competing demands of delivering high quality work, with optimizing chargeable time and providing opportunities for personal development, through the delivery of a wide variety of technical safety projects.

You’ll be predominantly based out of our modern offices located at the Aberdeen International Business Park in Dyce. While we support flexible and hybrid/home working arrangements where possible, given the nature of the role, you will need to be in our Aberdeen office on average 3 days a week to collaborate with colleagues and supporting the development of others in the team.

The work undertaken will cover a broad range of technical safety scopes, depending on client needs, but will likely include some, or all, of the following: safety case updates/thorough reviews, ALARP justifications, HAZID/HAZOP, EERA, QRA and consequence modelling.

The role includes interaction with customers and colleagues across the business to collaborate on technical problems and develop solutions. Development support will be available to enhance technical knowledge, project management and sales skills, through on the job training, mentoring and technical training courses.

If you're an experienced technical safety professional and have a passion for safety, we'd love to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to build on and enhance your existing knowledge in a challenging and rewarding environment, developing and sharing knowledge with junior engineers and helping to shape the future of the energy industry towards net zero’.

We offer a flexible and supportive work environment, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for individual development. Join our team today and make a positive impact on the industry and beyond!
