About the role

RROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Training Manager is responsible for driving the growth, strategic direction, development, and delivery of Public, In-House, and Private Training services in accordance with DNV policies, procedures, and requirements. This position reports to the Sales Manager.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and manage external educational programs for customers, including accredited, unaccredited, bespoke, public, and in-house training solutions for units across SEA and Oceania;
  • Lead the planning, organization, delivery, and continuous improvement of internal and external education and training programs;
  • Accountable for achieving training revenue and growth objectives through business development, customer engagement, portfolio expansion, strategic partnerships, and delivery of value-added learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Key Client Managers, and customers to identify market opportunities, understand customer learning needs, and develop tailored training solutions;
  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients to support business growth and customer satisfaction;
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop and promote training programs through conferences, webinars, trade shows, seminars, websites, social media, catalogues, and other marketing initiatives;
  • Develop educational content, presentations, collateral, and promotional materials to support training delivery and business development activities;
  • Coordinate with Technical, Operations and other stakeholders to develop and implement internal staff education, auditor development programs, and external training offerings;
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for trainers, and instructors, ensuring capability, competence, and succession development;
  • Develop and implement educational strategic goals and objectives aligned with business priorities, and monitor performance against these objectives;
  • Analyse, monitor, and report on training performance, customer feedback, market trends, and educational outcomes to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making;
  • Develop new training products and services and maintain existing training materials to ensure relevance, quality, consistency, and alignment with market needs;
  • Review and coordinate training and presentation content to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards and accreditation requirements;
  • Manage training logistics for face-to-face and virtual courses, including scheduling, materials, travel arrangements, and resource coordination;
  • Ensure personal trainer and assessor competence requirements, qualifications, and associated records are maintained;
  • Provide support and collaboration across local, regional and global teams to drive operational excellence and sharing of best practices;
  • Identify, manage, and resolve customer concerns and service issues in a professional and timely manner;
  • Ensure training services, resources, and partnerships effectively support the achievement of business and educational objectives;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

About you

SSKILLS/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in management systems, certification, assurance, sustainability, or related technical disciplines;
  • Proven leadership experience managing a training institute, academy, learning function, or equivalent operation within a certification body, professional services, or related industry;
  • Proven experience in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs, including face-to-face and virtual learning solutions;
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience identifying customer needs, developing tailored solutions, and supporting business growth objectives;
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a global and multicultural environment, delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget;
  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and competing deadlines;
  • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing trainers, auditors, or technical professionals;
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in developing training content, presentations, and educational materials, supported by strong digital and presentation skills;
  • Proven experience in business development, market analysis, and identifying growth opportunities for training and professional education services;
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Business Assurance is a unit of DNV where we are working with our customers towards verifying them if they are compliant with some particular rules. We are responsible for scheduling audits. We need to assign the right person with the right competences to conduct such an audit. And we are analysing and improving their processes. But sometimes we need to register some findings like observation, opportunity for improvement, or even non-conformities. I verify our clients' system management by observing them, how they work, how they produce. It's very interesting because we are delivering some additional information for our customers, what they cannot see or discover in their own systems. My work life as an auditor is completely different than employees who are working from the office every day. Because usually I'm travelling to our customers that are located in a different part of our country. Almost every week I work with different people in different companies. So if you like travel, if you are well organized, DNV can be for you.
