About the role

DNV Inspection, is seeking a Project Controller to join our finance team in Houston , TX - USA, reporting to the Operations Manager. The Project Controller will have a broad responsibility but will be to primarily handle all invoicing and project accounting requirements for the North America Inspection business as well as providing ad hoc financial support to the Senior Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the creation and accurate maintenance of Inspection projects in Oracle
  • Monthly sales invoice creation for all projects within North America Inspection business
  • Monthly project profitability reporting on Oracle
  • Manage the finance interface with iI2 users– liaison with co-ordinators
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager with maintenance and co-ordination of financial governance as documented in the ISI / DMS and ensuring adherence to Inspection internal procedures
  • Involvement in month end close, accruals, analysis and reporting
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager with reporting and reviews of Aged Debt and WIP
  • Manage accounts receivable and credit collection
  • Ad-hoc assistance to the Senior Finance Manager as time/workload permits
  • Manage and follow up financial performance
  • Manage budget and forecast project, SOB included

Key Outputs:

  • Correct set-up of all Oracle projects for North America Inspection business
  • Accurate and timely monthly sales invoicing for North America Inspection business
  • Monthly review and reporting of financial status of all Inspection projects in North America
  • Weekly/monthly aged debt and WIP analysis, Manage accounts receivable and credit collection
  • Manage budget and forecast project, SOB included
  • Ad hoc assistance to the Senior Finance Manager

About you

Competency Requirements:
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong competence level with MS Excel and analysis
  • Proven experience of forward thinking, anticipating potential problems, meeting critical deadlines and performing under pressure
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to balance and prioritize important control issues with efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to drive and manage process, policy and system changes

Professional Expertise:

  • Accounting Technician qualification / Finance degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience at minimum Assistant Accountant level with direct experience in project accounting and invoicing
  • Experience of Oracle/SAP preferred
  • Proven experience of producing analysis, management information and reports in a modern business environment
