Meet Louise
My name is Louise Cook and I'm a verification engineer in offshore infrastructure. My role is to ensure that our duty holders, both on and offshore, comply with regulations and UK law to ensure that the equipment and procedures that they use are basically safe. Knowing that the work I do daily ensures that someone that works on a rig or works on a hazardous site, uh, gets to go home, that is the most important part. So I'm a part of the DEI committee within DNV that basically makes sure that the workplace we have is a safe environment for everybody. So being a part of that, um, makes me really proud to be a part of DNV knowing that we have that culture here. I've recently become more involved with client meetings, so I'm getting, um, to be more involved of discussions. Really, these discussions are to find a, a good middle ground to see where we can be both happy with the safety aspect and they could be happy with the production aspect. In the past two years, I've tried to focus mostly on my competency and any gaps in my knowledge that I could fulfill with training. DNV had been really supportive with that put me through training courses. You know, we're not just oil and gas, we're looking into renewables, and these opportunities are coming up more and more. The quality and quantity of work that we have at the moment is up there with other duty holders.
