When Returning Feels Like Coming Home – You’re at the Heart of It.

The Story

Charlottes return to DNV.

Exploring New Horizons Beyond DNV

After 13 years of contributing to IT training and change management initiatives at DNV, Charlotte felt the urge to explore new horizons and see what else was out there. In 2020, she left the company to work as a consultant. However, despite her new role, she found herself missing the close-knit “DNV family” and the meaningful connections she had built over the years.

Ties That Never Fade

“I kept talking about DNV as if I still worked there,” Charlotte recalls. “I was excited by the company’s progress and felt a real sense of pride, even though I had left.” The move to an all-Norwegian company made Charlotte realize just how much she valued the diversity and global nature of her work at DNV. She also missed unique employee benefits that foster work-life balance, such as the training facilities, the beautiful office location by the fjord, and opportunities for learning and growing.

Rediscovering What Matters

“I realised I was missing the diversity of cultures we have at DNV - as well as working internationally,” Charlotte explains. “That’s something I really value about the DNV environment.” After three years away, Charlotte reached out to her former boss at DNV. To her delight, there was an opening that aligned with her skills and interests. Charlotte went through the interview process and was thrilled to rejoin the company in 2023.

Appreciating DNV from a New Perspective

“It wasn’t easy to leave DNV the first time, because I was leaving something I knew was really good – the DNV family,” she says. “I’m so glad I took the chance to try something new, because it made me appreciate even more what I had at DNV.” In her new role, Charlotte has taken on additional responsibilities, working across more business areas than before. She’s particularly excited about the company’s increased focus on AI and helping employees adapt to new technologies.

Thriving in an Evolving Environment

“The pace has definitely picked up, but I love the challenge,” Charlotte says. “I’m proud to be part of DNV’s efforts to stay innovative and help our people embrace change.” Charlotte’s return has reinforced her sense of purpose and highlighted DNV’s strengths as an adaptable and supportive workplace. Being back at DNV, Charlotte feels truly at the heart of it, where she knows her contributions make a meaningful difference.

Advice for Those Considering a Return

Charlotte encourages others who have left DNV to consider rejoining, emphasizing the company’s flexibility and the range of opportunities available. “DNV really is like a family,” she says. “The people here are so important to me, and I’m grateful to be back.” Her story serves as a testament to the welcoming and dynamic culture that we  offer to returning employees, ensuring they feel valued and empowered to grow.
