Communicating sustainability. Shaping your own path.

So my path into DNV was through university. I applied for a classical internship position and then was allowed to stay on as an assistant until I secured myself a full-time job here in Norway. My main job is to make sure to communicate our sustainability efforts in a right way, not only to comply with regulatory frameworks, but show off our performance and what we do in DNV. I think the most exciting part is to see how we dare to change things and go to management and go to different group functions and discuss with them how we can perform better. DNV is unique for me because I have a lot of opportunities to grow and I'm not put simply in a role to do my job but have a clear path ahead of me where I can develop and I'm part of that process of deciding where I want to develop. Setting up our project timeline, I noticed that I would like to do things a bit different than the established process and we have a weekly team meeting with a line manager where I could present my opinion and we went through it to change the internal process. So I felt I was really heard to and had the opportunity to make my own timeline as well. Here at the campus, you're thrown into a lot of opportunities to socialize. We have a young professionals network called Connect. So we meet and kayak, for example, right here in Oslo, but also through learning the language and local culture in our language cafe that happens once a week. I hope to get more onto the side of impacting DNV further than just communicating, but helping to improve our performance in sustainability. I think it's great communicating the effort that DNV already does, but it's even more interesting highlighting what it means on the ground, what it means to our environment and our people and workers.
