Julia - Training Coordinator

Julia’s journey at DNV shows how embracing change fuels growth. Her story highlights the value of feedback, adaptability, and connection.

The Story

Change is where growth begins

Meet Julia from the Training Coordination team in Global Shared Services, Gdynia. Her nine-year journey at DNV is a great example of how embracing change can lead to continuous growth. Julia has courageously moved cities and transitioned through five different roles, each one building on the last.

“It’s not the number of roles that matters, but the continuous learning and growth in each position,” Julia shares.

A career shaped by bold moves

Julia began her DNV journey in 2017 as a Senior Accountant. She then stepped into leadership as a Team Leader and later took on an interim Head of Section role. After maternity leave, she returned as a Senior Specialist in finance, followed by a Lead role in an internal project. Today, she’s thriving in the  HR Training Coordination Team - a shift from finance to HR that proved her skills were more transferable than she imagined.

What keeps her energized

Positive and honest feedback is what fuels Julia’s motivation. Feeling valued, heard, and supported - along with the flexibility to maintain a healthy work-life balance - are key reasons she continues to grow at DNV. She also highlights the power of networking: “DNV brought me friends and amazing colleagues. When I first moved to Gdynia, I felt lonely. Now I feel connected.”

Challenges that built confidence

Each role brought new challenges and learning opportunities. Leading a team helped Julia grow both professionally and personally. Transitioning back to work after maternity leave taught her adaptability and the importance of a supportive environment. One standout moment was leading an internal project that gave her development opportunities - an experience that helped shape her current role in HR.

Looking ahead

Julia’s career goal is simple yet powerful: to make a meaningful impact and contribute to her team’s development. She believes there are still many opportunities ahead to do just that.
