The Story

Collaborating with a global network of experts

Working as a Finance Manager at Global Shared Services, I manage a team responsible for ensuring that DNV’s audits and tax filings in our African legal entities are done correctly. Although the team is based in South Africa and Egypt, our network stretches far beyond the geographical area.

We report to the Regional Manager in Dubai, work closely with the Group function in Norway and the rest of Finance organization in different locations. I’m proud of how we collaborate across borders and teams while at the same time embracing the different cultures, perspectives and skills.

Challenges that provide learning opportunities

For the past few years, together with the team we have been focusing on a project aimed at standardizing the audits in Africa. It’s a complex region which has kept my role very challenging, but at the same time brought a lot of learning along the way. It’s also truly rewarding to see the impact of improvements we have made over the years.
